Viva brings the heart of beer and the soul of wine together. Hops and grapes, champagne yeast and wild wine yeast. Giving time and place for every flavour to develop through meticulous triple fermentation.
First, pale malted barley and Hallertau Blanc hops are brought to a head with fine champagne yeast. Next, a second partial fermentation combines carefully selected Chardonnay grapes (40%) with wild strains of wine yeast. Finally, at precisely the right moment: the master blend. The best of beer and wine undergo a third and final fermentation together.
This triple fermentation makes Viva Extra Brut very dry, with no residual sugars and an alcohol content of 11.5% with still a good drinkability.
The hybrid brew is carefully bottled under high pressure. Therefore, no extra fermentation in the bottle is needed to get a nice sparkle. As a result, there is also no dead yeast in the (last) glass.
The dry, fruity, slightly sour and sparkling character makes this 'bière brut' or 'grape ale', served in its exclusive black bottle, an original Belgian alternative for Champagne, Cava or Prosecco. An eye-catcher for every special occasion.
